Turks and Caicos Islands

A British overseas territory, the Turks and Caicos Islands are comprised of 40 islands and cays.

They lie at the south-eastern end of the Bahamas chain, 575 miles southeast of Miami and 90 miles north of Hispaniola. The islands are generally flat, with rolling hills, brilliant reefs, and water that shifts through every shade of turquoise.

Long before European arrival, the islands were home to Taíno and Lucayan peoples. The name Caicos is linked to the Lucayan phrase caya hico, meaning string of islands, while Turks is often associated with the native Turk's Head cactus and the islands' old seafaring history.

Providenciales is home to Grace Bay Beach, repeatedly voted one of the world's best beaches. Grand Turk carries centuries of history and offers world-class diving.
